Your Brand Report shows you exactly where you stand in AI search. But a dashboard full of numbers only helps if you know what to do with them. This guide takes each key metric and turns it into a next step.

📖 Looking for what a metric means or how it's calculated? See the Brand Report KPI definitions →. This article is about what to do once you've read the number.

Your Brand Coverage is low

The signal: your brand appears in only a small percentage of tracked prompts — you're not part of the conversation often enough.

What to do:

  1. Check your prompts first. Low coverage sometimes means you're tracking the wrong prompts, not that you're invisible. Relevant prompts →
  2. Find where you're absent. Use citation analysis → to see which sources AI cites instead of you on those prompts.
  3. Close the gap with content and digital PR on those specific topics.

Your Share of Voice is falling

The signal: competitors are winning a bigger slice of total brand mentions than before.

What to do:

  • Open compare brand vs competitors → and find the exact prompts where rivals are pulling ahead.
  • A falling SoV with steady mentions usually means a competitor surged — investigate what they recently published or launched, and respond on those topics.

You're mentioned, but your Brand Position is weak

The signal: your brand appears in answers, but late — near the bottom when AI lists multiple options.

What to do:

  • Position tends to improve with topical authority. Strengthen the depth and credibility of your content on those prompts.
  • Run a GEO Audit → on the relevant pages to make sure AI can fully read and trust them.

Your Domain Coverage is low (brand mentioned, site not cited)

The signal: AI talks about your brand, but rarely cites your website as a source.

What to do:

  • This is usually a crawlability or citability gap — AI can't access or doesn't trust your pages as references.
  • Run a GEO Audit →, then do a content gap analysis → to see which pages competitors get cited for that you don't.

Your Brand Sentiment is negative or below competitors

The signal: AI describes your brand less favorably than rivals (a low or negative Net Sentiment Score).

What to do:

  • Drill into the prompts driving negative sentiment with sentiment analysis →.
  • Identify the recurring narrative, then address it directly with content, FAQs, or PR that gives AI better material to draw from.

You're in the wrong Brand Visibility Index quadrant

The signal: your position on the BVI chart tells you your overall standing — Leaders, Niche, or Low Conversion. What the quadrants mean →

What to do:

  • Niche (high position, low coverage): you're respected where you appear — now grow reach by targeting more prompts and topics.
  • Low Conversion (high coverage, low position): you're everywhere but ranked late — improve authority to move up within answers.
  • The goal is always the top-right Leaders quadrant.

Your citations are concentrated in a few URLs

The signal: your "Most Cited URLs" list shows just one or two pages carrying all your citations.

What to do:

  • These pages are your AI-search winners — study why they work (format, depth, structure) and replicate the pattern on other pages.
  • Strengthen internal linking from these strong pages to the ones you want AI to discover next.

Reading trends over time

Single-day numbers fluctuate — AI answers change daily. Trends are what matter. Use the Brand & Domain Coverage Over Time charts to:

  • Confirm whether an optimization actually moved the needle (watch the weeks after you ship a change).
  • Spot a competitor's sudden rise or fall and correlate it with their activity.

Your first three actions (if you're not sure where to start)

  1. Confirm your prompts are right — bad prompts make every other number misleading.
  2. Pick your single biggest gap — usually low coverage on a high-value topic.
  3. Run a GEO Audit on the pages you most want AI to cite.
