Why am I seeing a "Something went wrong" error?
If you encounter a "Something went wrong" message while using OtterlyAI, don't worry, this is usually caused by a browser or network issue rather than a problem with your account or data. The fixes below resolve this error in most cases.
Step 1 — Clear your browser cache and cookies
Cached or corrupted browser data is the most common cause of this error. Clearing it takes less than a minute.
| Browser | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Windows / Linux | Ctrl + Shift + Delete |
| Mac | Shift + Command + Delete |
In the dialog that appears, make sure Cached images and files and Cookies and other site data are both checked, then clear the data. Restart your browser and try OtterlyAI again.
Step 2 — Disable browser extensions
Certain browser extensions — particularly ad blockers, translation extensions, and privacy tools — can interfere with how OtterlyAI loads. Try disabling all extensions temporarily:
- Open your browser's extension manager
- Chrome:
chrome://extensions - Firefox:
about:addons - Edge:
edge://extensions
- Chrome:
- Toggle off all active extensions
- Refresh the OtterlyAI page and check if the error is gone
If it is, re-enable your extensions one by one to identify which one is causing the conflict.
Step 3 — Disable your VPN
If you're using a VPN, try disconnecting it and refreshing OtterlyAI. Some VPN configurations can affect how the platform connects to its servers.
Still seeing the error?
If the problem persists after trying all three steps, contact the OtterlyAI support team — include a screenshot of the error message and let us know which browser and operating system you're using so we can investigate quickly.
