What is AI Readiness on the GEO audit?

With AI Readiness, we want to improve the quality of our content. Several factors play a role in determining how our content is crawled, indexed, and referenced by tools like ChatGPT and similar platforms. Here are some key considerations.

AI Readiness: How natural and engaging is our content? Do we include meaningful statistics, quotes, and facts? In other words, how well does our content resonate with our actual audience, as opposed to being filled with marketing jargon?

More quotes, citations and statistics in the content pages will help your brand and content to show up in AI search responses. AI readiness tells you how much of these you have in your content.

The Natural Language Score calculates a score between 0 and 100%. The Natural Language Score measures how well the content matches how real people speak / ask questions, vs. how AI‐search engines expect input (or input types) in natural, conversational language.

As a content editor, your goals are:

Aligning content with user queries
To evaluate how closely your content (titles, headings, paragraphs) matches the types of natural‐language questions people are asking (e.g. “How do I make sourdough bread” vs “sourdough bread recipe”). If your content uses more formal, keyword-stuffed language or unnatural phrasing, AI systems may not find it as matching or useful.

Improving AI-friendly phrasing
AI models often prefer content that is clear, conversational, structured, and “extractable” (easy to pull passages for summaries or answers). The natural language score likely rewards content that has those qualities: direct answers, question style headings, clear structure, less overly technical / jargon heavy where possible.

Increasing chances of citations in AI responses
If your content is more aligned with natural-language user queries and phrasing, it has a higher chance of being selected (cited, summarized) by AI tools when someone asks a question. The natural language score helps indicate how likely this is.

We utilize the Natural Language API from Google.
